The current fourth generation of the business-class sedan Audi A6 (or "seventh" if counting from "hundredths") was born in 2011. According to the manufacturer, interest in the sedan is steadily growing, which forced the Ingolstadters to think about updating the model. It was possible to implement the plan by the fall of 2014, when at the beginning of September the basic information about the restyled Audi A6 was declassified. The public premiere of the updated sedan will take place at the Paris Motor Show, but for now let's refresh our memory, remembering what the Audi A6 is in the back of the C7.

The dynamic silhouette of the Audi A6 sedan inspires respect from the first second of eye contact. Carefully calibrated proportions of the body and exquisite details of the exterior design form the image of true German quality, worthy of only the best cars. The Audi A6 sedan is beautiful, expensive and moderately sporty. The body length of the Audi A6 is 4915 mm, the width is 1874 mm, and the height is within the frame of 1455 mm. The length of the wheelbase is 2912 mm. The ground clearance (clearance) of the Audi A6 is 163 mm. The curb weight varies from 1540 to 1770 kg, depending on the type of engine, but after restyling, these figures will decrease, since the manufacturer has increased the volume of aluminum in the body structure.

As part of the current update, Audi designers have carefully modified the radiator grille, prepared new optics, slightly changed the bumpers, adjusted the sills and added new wheel design options. There were no global changes, but, nevertheless, the car became fresher and more aerodynamic.

The salon has practically not changed during the restyling. New finishes have appeared here, plus some subtle details have undergone minor revisions, for example, the multimedia system received a new graphics processor.

In terms of quality and ergonomics, the interior of the Audi A6 is one of the best in its class. Abundance of free space, high-quality finishing materials, comfortable fit on all seats, the highest level of safety, excellent visibility and rich equipment - all this is about the Audi A6. By the way, the trunk of a sedan is able to hide in its depths up to 530 liters in standard condition and up to 995 liters with the second row of seats folded down.

Specifications. The engine lineup of the Audi A6 C7 includes a sufficient number of options to choose from: 3 petrol engines, 2 diesel engines and one hybrid power plant. The list of gasoline units is opened by a 2.0-liter in-line turbocharged engine with direct fuel injection and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, developing 180 hp. maximum power at 4000 - 6000 rpm, as well as 320 Nm of torque at 1500 - 3900 rpm. The motor works in tandem with the basic 6-speed "mechanics" or with the optional continuously variable "variator" Multitronic. With a manual transmission, the engine is able to accelerate the Audi A6 sedan from 0 to 100 km / h in 8.1 seconds, with a "variator" this task takes 8.3 seconds. The maximum speed is 231 or 226 km / h in favor of the "mechanics", and the average fuel consumption, on the contrary, is better for the version with the "variator": 6.4 liters versus 6.5 liters.

Next in the list of engines is a 2.8-liter V6 gasoline aspirated, which also received direct fuel injection, but already a 24-valve DOHC timing belt. Its maximum output is set by the manufacturer at 204 hp. at 5250 - 6250 rpm, and the peak torque is 280 Nm at 3000 - 5000 rpm. A medium gasoline engine is aggregated with the same set of gearboxes. With the "mechanics" it accelerates the sedan from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.9 seconds, and with the "variator" - in 7.7 seconds. "Maximum speed" in both cases is equal to 240 km / h, but the fuel consumption is again in favor of the "variator": 7.4 liters versus 7.7 liters for manual transmission.

At the top of the list of gasoline engines is a 3.0-liter compressor V6 with direct injection and 24-valve DOHC timing, paired with a 7-speed "robot" S-Tronic, which has two clutches and a manual shift function. The upper power limit of the top-end gasoline unit is 310 hp. achieved at 5500 - 6500 rpm, and the maximum torque is 440 Nm in the range from 2900 to 4500 rpm. With this engine, the Audi A6 sedan is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 250 km / h, while the first 100 km / h is reached in 5.5 seconds, and the average gasoline consumption in the combined cycle is 8.2 liters per 100 km.

The line of diesel power units of the Audi A6 opens with a 2.0-liter in-line turbo engine with direct injection and 16-valve DOHC timing. Its power is 177 hp, developing at 4200 rpm, and the peak torque is 380 Nm at 1750 - 2500 rpm. As a gearbox, the Germans offer only a continuously variable "variator", which allows the Audi A6 Sedan to accelerate to the first 100 km / h in 8.2 seconds, while the maximum speed of the sedan is about 222 km / h. As for the fuel appetite, the junior diesel fits exactly 5.0 liters.

The diesel flagship has 6 V-cylinders with a total displacement of 3.0 liters, a direct fuel injection system and a 24-valve DOHC timing belt. Its power is declared by the Germans at the level of 245 hp .. available at 4000 - 4500 rpm, and the peak torque is limited to 580 Nm, developed at 1750 - 2500 rpm. The diesel flagship is aggregated only with a 7-speed "robot", which makes it possible to make a starting spurt from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds, gain a "maximum speed" of 250 km / h, while consuming no more than 5.9 liters of fuel per 100 km on a combined cycle.

The hybrid power plant, which has recently disappeared from the market, was based on a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine with 211 hp. and an electric motor with a power of 54 hp, which made it possible to achieve a total net power of 245 hp. At the same time, the useful torque of the hybrid unit reached 480 Nm (350 and 210 Nm), and as a gearbox the hybrid received an 8-speed Tiptronic “automatic”. The hybrid Audi A6 is capable of accelerating to 240 km / h, gaining 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds, while consuming no more than 6.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.

The restyling of September 2014-2015 made adjustments to the engine range of the fourth generation Audi A6. From now on, the base gasoline engine will be a 1.8-liter turbo unit developing 190 hp. power. In addition, the line of gasoline units will include a 2.8-liter aspirated engine with 220 hp output, a 2.0-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 252 hp. and a 3.0-liter turbo unit with 333 hp. The list of diesel installations after restyling includes only one engine - the previous 3.0-liter turbo engine with a return of 245 hp. The list of checkpoints has also changed. From now on, the place of the "variator" Multitronic was taken by the more modern preselective "robot" S-Tronic, and the 6-speed "mechanics" was completely reconfigured. The manufacturer promises to inform about the dynamic characteristics of the restyled Audi A6 at the Paris Motor Show.

The fourth generation Audi A6 (C7 body) is built on the platform of the larger A7 and A8. After restyling, all modifications with engines with a volume of less than 2.8 liters received only front-wheel drive, and the rest got the proprietary permanent all-wheel drive Quattro with a central interaxle self-locking differential and a system of directed torque distribution between the wheels of the rear axle (thrust vector control). In the standard state, the Quattro system distributes traction in a ratio of 40:60 in favor of the rear axle, but if necessary, the electronics can change this ratio in the range from 70:30 to 15:85.

The suspension of the Audi A6 sedan is completely independent, multi-link. As an option, the suspension can be replaced with a sports suspension (2 variants) or an adaptive pneumatic suspension with adjustable ground clearance (140 - 180 mm). All wheels of the Audi A6 are equipped with disc brakes, while the front discs are ventilated. The rack and pinion steering gear of the sedan is complemented by an electromechanical amplifier with a variable gear ratio. Already in the database, the car is equipped with a whole range of electronic assistants: ABS, EBD, BAS, ESP and ASR.

Options and prices. In the basic equipment of the Audi A6 sedan, the manufacturer included 17-inch forged wheels, 6-airbags, an on-board computer, 2-zone climate control with a dust filter and a humidity sensor, full power accessories, heated windshield in the rest area of ​​the wiper blades, side mirrors with heated and electrically adjustable, heated front seats, front seats with lumbar adjustment and an audio system with 9 speakers, amplifier, subwoofer and support for SDHC memory cards. The pre-styled Audi A6 sedan is sold at a price of 1,770,000 rubles. After restyling, the cost of the base modification increased to the level of 1,810,000 rubles. The most affordable version with all-wheel drive is estimated at 2,170,000 rubles, and the top-end modification with a 333-horsepower engine will cost 2,565,000 rubles. Applications for the 2015 Audi A6 began on 16 September. The first cars should arrive at dealerships already at the end of October 2014.
