The Frankfurt Motor Show, which took place in September 2011, was the site of the official premiere of the third generation Audi S8 executive sports sedan - a "charged" version of the flagship model from Ingolstadt.

Two years later, in the same place, an updated version of the car debuted, which, in addition to improvements made to the exterior and interior, acquired new electronic "chips".

Externally, the Audi S8 differs slightly from the usual "eight" - more "muscular" sills, nameplates, slightly modified "skirts" of bumpers, silver mirror housings and a quartet of exhaust pipes.

The length of the "charged" executive sedan is 5147 mm, of which 2994 mm is allocated to remove the front axle from the rear axle, the width does not exceed 1949 mm, and the height is 1458 mm.

The interior of the Audi S8 is entirely borrowed from its "civilian" brother, starting from the design and ending with all the amenities and comfort systems, and partly only the decoration is original on it - decorative inserts made of carbon fiber and aluminum pedals.

The luggage compartment of the "German big rocket" has a volume of 520 liters.

Specifications. The "third" Audi S8 is driven by an aluminum eight-cylinder V-shaped engine with a volume of 4.0 liters with two turbines, direct gasoline supply and a system for deactivating half of the "pots". The engine develops 520 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 650 Nm of torque generated in the range from 1700 to 5500 rpm. Together with him, an 8-band "automatic" with paddle shifters and quattro all-wheel drive with a sports electronic differential (traction between the front and rear wheels is divided in a ratio of 40:60).

The dynamics of the car is truly "cannon" - acceleration to 100 km / h takes only 4.1 seconds, in 14 seconds the speedometer needle goes over 200 km / h, and further acceleration continues before the cutoff at 250 km / h. In mixed driving mode, the third generation S8 "eats" an average of 9.6 liters of fuel for every "hundred".

In technical terms, the Audi S8 in the D4 body almost completely repeats the "civilian brother": the MLB platform, aluminum multi-link suspension on pneumatic elements on the front and rear axles, as well as an electric power steering with variable characteristics. By default, the sedan is equipped with ventilated disc brakes and a bunch of electronic assistants, and as an option - carbon and ceramic devices.

Options and prices. In the Russian market for the 3rd generation Audi S8 in 2015 they ask for a minimum of 7,000,000 rubles.
For this money, you get a car with air suspension, leather interior trim, carbon fiber and aluminum, LED optics, 20-inch "rollers", dual-zone "climate", sports front seats with electrically adjustable, infotainment complex, premium audio system and a whole range of support technologies comfort and safety.
