Suzuki never expected a big success for its little Splash in Europe, but this car was able to prove its viability, and in the Japanese market, moreover, it has also become a very popular model. Not wanting to foolishly "miss the wave", the automaker decided to update the "Splash" in 2012.

The main changes in the design of the exterior of the updated model fell on the front of the hatchback: a new bumper, an updated shape of the radiator grille, elongated fog lights on the sides. At the rear, the changes are less noticeable, so the updated "Splash" has acquired slightly modified graphics for its taillights and small decorative grilles on the rear bumper.

Essentially, the Suzuki Splash hatchback acts as an ultra-compact city car, developed in conjunction with the Opel corporation, which implements a similar model called the "Agila". The engines on offer do not differ in variety: either a 1.0-liter three-cylinder or a 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine.

An unforgettable bright design, the most modern style, very compact dimensions, the usual Japanese quality, the easiest handling, a high level of comfort, as well as safety, economical fuel consumption - what other possible advantages should a modern car for a young family have? Apparently, only a balanced ratio of cost and quality. All of the above criteria are fully met by "Splash" - a compact stylish city car that can become an excellent vehicle for young people.

If we talk about its cost, then it is unlikely that the purchase of this car will make a tangible gap in the budget of a representative of the middle class.

But Suzuki Splash is not just a "small car" - it is a car with a completely adult and serious character, which, moreover, is able to surprise others with its memorable appearance, bring a small piece of diversity into the familiar environment ... stir up the everyday measured rhythm of a big metropolis. It is not for nothing that this model received such an ambitious name (translated from English, it is "splash").

And if we talk about the technical characteristics of "Splash", then the engines used in this car are their own development of the Suzuki Corporation and represent an excellent example of precisely balanced power, good fuel efficiency, fully comply with the strict Euro-4 standards.
A liter three-cylinder engine requires an average of five liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers, and a four-cylinder 1.2-liter engine consumes 5.9 liters. fuel (with "automatic transmission"). The engines of the updated "Splash" work in conjunction with a five-speed manual or automatic four-band transmission.

Another excellent feature of this car is the specially tuned shock absorbers. They provide a smooth, soft ride of the car, and, accordingly, the feeling of "flight", as if the car is sliding on an air cushion.

The creators of "Splash" were faced with a very difficult task - to create an urban youth car with a positive, memorable appearance, easily controlled and comfortable in a large modern city. And, it must be admitted, the specialists of the corporation coped with this task quite successfully. Thanks to its length of 3.7 meters, Suzuki Splash can easily be parked in the tightest parking lot, and the vehicle height of 1.59 meters makes it possible to accommodate passengers of any height with optimal comfort.
However, despite its more than one and a half meter height, as well as a very unusual design, this hatchback has a surprisingly low aerodynamic drag coefficient for its segment - only 0.32, which provides it with stable dynamics and, therefore, very tangible fuel efficiency.

Very compact external dimensions slightly limit the internal space of the car and the comfort here is quite at the level. The high seating position guarantees excellent visibility, and the transformation possibilities in the cabin allow the owner to use the interior space in the most efficient way. By folding the rear seats, you can provide, if necessary, additional volume in the trunk, in which there will be enough space even for a large baby carriage, and under the floor of the luggage compartment there are compartments for accommodating "small things".

The pre-styled "Splash" was sold in Russia in one single fixed configuration (a 4-speed "automatic" coupled with an uncontested power unit with a volume of 1.2 liters (86 hp)), costing 555 thousand Russian rubles. But the updated model, the implementation of which started in early July 2012, was able to drop in price by 40 thousand rubles at once. It's quite unusual - when a restyled model is offered cheaper - but here's the fact.
In 2012, the updated Suzuki Splash can be bought at a price of 515 thousand rubles (for the version with a 5-speed "mechanics"). Well, the version with "automatic" is offered at a price of 545 thousand rubles.
