The Great Wall Poer is a mid-size, rear- or four-wheel-drive pickup truck that combines an attractive design, a modern and high-quality interior, a productive technical component and a good level of equipment. The main target audience of the car is considered to be successful men (usually family), leading an active lifestyle and in need of a "multipurpose SUV" ...

The official premiere of the serial Great Wall Pao pickup took place on August 18, 2019 at a special event in China, but its conceptual forerunner of the same name appeared before the general public back in April of the same year at the Shanghai International Auto Show. The car, positioned by the company as a passenger rather than a commercial model, topped the automaker's lineup, becoming its first-born on the new P71 frame platform with circular spring suspensions.

The car reached Russia only in mid-June 2021, changing its name from Pao to Poer.

Outside, the mid-size "truck" has a moderately attractive, expressive and harmonious design, which makes it look quite original, but at the same time resembles Toyota and Ford pickups.

In front, the "Chinese" flaunts a huge "shield" of a radiator grille, a frowning gaze of head optics and a neat bumper, and its stern carries stylish vertically oriented lights and a large hinged side.

And in profile, the pickup truck demonstrates a pleasant and balanced shape with a long hood, clear relief of the sidewalls, a "separate" cargo platform and impressive strokes of the wheel arches, emphasized by protective linings made of "aluminum" plastic.

Dimensions and clearance

In terms of its dimensions, the Great Wall Poer is a typical representative of the mid-size class: it stretches 5404 mm in length, 1934 mm in width, and 1837 mm in height. The gap between the wheelsets of the front and rear axles is 3230 mm for the car, and its ground clearance is 232 mm.

Interior

Inside, the Great Wall Poer looks by no means utilitarian - a stylish four-spoke multi-steering wheel with a raised rim, a fully virtual instrument cluster, a strict and solid center console topped with a large touchscreen of an infotainment complex with vertical ventilation deflectors on the sides and a pair of exemplary climate control units. installations and audio systems.

The interior of the pickup truck is made exclusively of high-quality materials - high-quality plastics, genuine leather, aluminum, etc.

The interior of the mid-size "truck" has a five-seat layout, and a normal supply of free space is promised here even to the inhabitants of the second row. True, a sofa with an excessively vertical back is installed at the back (which, by the way, is typical for many cars of this class).

In the front seats - ergonomically profiled seats with unobtrusive lateral support and wide adjustment ranges.

Cargo capacity

The pickup's arsenal includes a cargo platform with the following internal dimensions: width - 1520 mm, length - 1520 mm, side height - 538 mm.

But the passport carrying capacity of the car is more than modest - only 375 kg (with a total weight of 2495 kg).

A full-size spare wheel is suspended from the vehicle outside, under the bottom.

Specifications

In the Russian market, under the hood of the Great Wall Poer, there is a four-cylinder gasoline unit with the GW4C20B index with a working volume of 2.0 liters with an in-line layout, a turbocharger, direct injection technology, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and adjustable valve timing, which generates 150 horsepower at 3600 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 1500-2500 rpm.

By default, the Chinese pickup relies on an 8-band hydromechanical "automatic" ZF and an all-wheel drive transmission of the Part-time type with a rigidly connected front axle, a reduction gear and an electronically controlled rear differential lock.

The car has good off-road potential: for example, it is able to overcome fords up to 500 mm deep, and the angles of entry, ramp and exit are 29 degrees, 21 degrees and 25 degrees, respectively.

Dynamics, speed and consumption

From a standstill to 100 km / h, the "truck" accelerates after 16 seconds, and its maximum speed "rests" at 155 km / h.

Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is an average of 9.5 liters for every "hundred" run.

At the front, the car is equipped with an independent double wishbone suspension, and at the rear - a dependent architecture with a continuous axle (but "in a circle" - with steel springs, hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars).
