Used car reliability rating TUV Report 2015

At the end of November 2014, the German "Union of Technical Control and Supervision" (TUV) published the next report "TUV 2015", from which you can find out the level of reliability of used cars.

Within the framework of this rating, data were collected and processed on all cars more than two years old, after which the percentage of cars that were found to have technical malfunctions was revealed.

Through the efforts of German specialists, the technical condition of more than 8.5 million cars in five age categories was studied, and the final reliability rating included 226 models. Who is the favorite and who is the outsider? Let's figure it out.

Leadership in reliability in the age category 2-3 years went to the compact roadster Mercedes-Benz SLK, whose owners only in 2.4% of cases had to visit a car service in order to troubleshoot. Only 0.5% was lost to the business-class model Audi A6, and the compact crossover Mercedes-Benz GLK took the third place with a result of 3.6%.
The top 10 also includes Porsche 911, BMW Z4, Mercedes-Benz E-class coupe, Audi Q5, Audi A3, Ford Focus and Mercedes-Benz C-class.
They are counterbalanced by the least reliable cars, among which the "first" position went to Dacia Logan, known to Russians under the Renault brand. In 15.7% of cases, this car had to visit repair stations. The Alfa Romeo MiTo is doing 0.1% better, and the Fiat Panda is 0.9% better.

In the age segment 4-5 years old the best result was shown by the Mazda 3 with 5.4%, which was ahead of the Porsche 911 by 1%. The third line went to three models at once - Toyota iQ, Toyota Avensis and Volkswagen Polo, gaining 6.5%.
The rest of the top ten are: Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz E-class, Volkswagen Golf Plus, Volvo XC60 and Mercedes-Benz GLK.
The list of outsiders is headed by Fiat Doblo, which failed to pass the MOT in 25.8% of cases, while Dacia Logan and Renault Kangoo showed a slightly better result among outsiders - 25.5% and 25.4%, respectively.

I wonder what category 6-7 years old the number of German cars is decreasing, and the number of Japanese cars, on the contrary, is increasing. The most reliable was the Porsche 911, which has only 10.5% of the "marriage". Behind him was the "two" from Mazda, which showed the result of 11.2%, but the last on the podium was Volkswagen Golf Plus - 11.5%.
Next in order are Toyota Auris, Mercedes-Benz E-class, Toyota Corolla Verso, Audi TT, Toyota Yaris, Mercedes-Benz SLK and Honda CR-V.
Renault Laguna, Dacia Logan and Renault Kangoo performed the worst with 33%, 32.8% and 31.9%, respectively.

"Palm of Leadership" in the age category 8-9 years old again stayed with the Porsche 911, which failed to pass inspection only in 11.5% of cases. Toyota Corolla Verso is 4.1% behind the German, and Toyota RAV4 is 5.1% behind.
Other representatives of the top 10 ranked as follows: Mazda 2, Ford Fusion, Mercedes-Benz SLK, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Avensis, Volkswagen Golf Plus and Subaru Forester.
But the “leader” among outsiders is surprising - this is the Mercedes-Benz M-class with a score of 43.2%. Fiat Stilo has 2.1% less waste, and Fiat Doblo - 5.3%.

The most reliable car of the age 10-11 years old again became a Porsche 911, the owners of which only in 14.6% of cases visited a car service to eliminate breakdowns. The second position with 19.3% went to Subaru Forester, and Toyota RAV4 closes the top three - 20.2%.
The top 10 also includes Toyota Avensis, Honda Jazz, Toyota Corolla, Mazda 2, Toyota Yaris, Ford Fusion, and Volkswagen Bew Beetle.
At the opposite end of the ranking are the Mercedes-Benz M-class (44.8%), Fiat Stilo (44.3%) and Volkswagen Sharan (43.6%).

The report "TUV 2015", conducted under the auspices of the German "Union of Technical Control and Supervision", is interesting to Russian motorists, because within its framework, experts analyze European versions of cars, which are usually presented in Russia with minor changes.
