At the South Korean auto industry show in Busan, which opened its doors to visitors in early June 2016, Hyundai's premium division, Genesis, launched the G80, an E-class sedan, a redesigned Hyundai Genesis sedan.

As a result of the modernization, the car not only received the appearance, decorated in the "family" style of the premium brand, but also tried on better finishing materials, got engines from the "older" G90 and added new options to the functionality.

Outwardly, in comparison with its predecessor, Genesis G80 has not changed much - simultaneously with the loss of the Hyundai nameplates, the car acquired more prominent bumpers, redrawn lighting equipment and unique wheel rims measuring 18 inches. And all these improvements have gone to the benefit of the three-volume - it began to look even more attractive and solid.

The overall dimensions of the premium sedan are identical to those of the "source": 4990 mm in length, of which the wheelbase fits in 3010 mm, 1480 mm in height and 1890 mm in width. The ground clearance of the "Korean" does not exceed 135 mm.

Genesis G80 received an interior made in the style of the full-size model "Equus" - a massive four-spoke steering wheel, hiding behind itself a modern and informative "instrument panel", and a presentable center panel with a color screen of the infotainment center, analog clock and stylish blocks of "music" and "Climate".

Inside, the car surrounds riders with premium materials and offers excellent levels of comfort in both the front and rear seats.

As for the luggage compartment, its volume remained at the level of its predecessor - 493 liters.

Specifications

For the Russian market, "G-Eighty" is announced with one gasoline engine - the "heart" of the three-volume is a 2.0-liter "four" Theta-II with a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, a turbocharger, direct fuel injection and adjustable valve timing, generating 245 "stallions "And 353 Nm of torque.
The motor is mated with an 8-band "automatic", which has a manual mode of changing gears by means of paddle shifters, and a "smart" all-wheel drive system HTAC with a multi-plate clutch that connects the front axle, and four modes of operation ("standard", "sport", "winter" , "Eco").

In driving performance, this sedan, for its segment, does not shine with outstanding results: from a standstill to 100 km / h, it “shoots” in 8.6 seconds, accelerates to 237 km / h, but also “doesn’t eat much” - no more than 9.2 liters fuel for each "combined hundred".

Structurally, the Genesis G80 repeats the Hyundai Genesis - the E-class three-box is based on a rear-wheel drive platform with a "double-lever" in the front and a "multi-link" at the rear, as well as a large percentage of high-strength types of steel in the body structure.
Optionally, the machine is equipped with an adaptive chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers.

By default, the premium "Korean" has a progressive electric power steering and ventilated disc brakes on all wheels with the darkness of modern "helpers".
